An Easy Way To Empower Your Life

“But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.” (Psalms 1:2, 3)

Meditate means to speak. So King David is saying those who love God’s law, or His word, talk about it, they say it to themselves, in the morning and at night. And those who do this will prosper, they’ll be successful.

So when you read the bible, try to read it out loud. you can just quietly say it. Then remind yourself of it and say it aloud throughout the day. There is literal power when we speak God’s word. “Faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God,” (Romans 10:17) and let us never forget, “For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith,” (1 John 5:4 NLT).

Love you guys!

Katy Perry: Please Come Home

Dear Kate Hudson,

As I write this, tears blur my vision and fall from my eyes. I don’t know the number of hairs on your head, I’ve never even seen you in person, yet here I am, crying for you. I can’t imagine how Your Creator, the very One who fashioned you in your mother’s womb, who gave you your beautiful big blue eyes, and that incredible voice, the One who wrote every day of your life before a single one of them came to be—I can’t imagine how He must weep for you.

Do you remember the shortest verse in the Bible? “Jesus wept.”

The only way I can rationalize your turning away from so Great a Love is that you must not have truly known Him. How could it be possible to forsake the most perfect, good, amazing Being in the Universe? The Perfect Man who left His heavenly home to live on this dark earth for thirty-three long years and then be brutally beaten and die, suffering hell—eternal separation from God—for all mankind. For you.

How must He feel when He sees what has happened to your heart? How lost you must be, how blind to the fact that Satan laughs because he sees your destruction. He lifts people up only to drag them down. For he hates humans with a perfect hatred. After all, God made us in His very image, and through Christ He offers us all ever Satan wanted—the throne.

Christians are a royal priesthood. Sons and daughters of the Supreme King. He offers us a crown, and the ability to rule alongside Him. This is what Satan wanted, to be exalted, but instead, he was cast down, thrown from heaven, and his end is eternal destruction because of his rebellion.

Do you not see? You may have fame and riches here on earth, but would you truly cast yourself into eternal fire for things that can be taken from you at any second, whenever the Giver and Taker of life decides your time is up?

You must not understand what you’re doing. Satan is the father of all lies. He can be very convincing. But I pray you see the Truth. I pray you understand how God’s wrath abides on the disobedient. How Satan’s demons trembled at the presence of Christ, and how He rules over all. There is no escaping God’s judgement. Do you wish to face Him as Father, or as Sword-bearer?

I’m pleading with you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to your Creator. You can forsake death and destruction and be embraced by a Love worth living for.

You may never read this, but know that I am praying for you. But more importantly, know that Jesus truly does love you. And there is no one who will ever come an inch close to loving you as deeply as He does.

I pray you come back home.

To my beloved brethren

To my brothers and sisters, saints in Christ Jesus, who have crucified their desires to His cross, and have been sanctified by the power of His Holy Spirit:

I am thankful beyond measure that God has so blessed and graced me with you all. When we fellowship, I experience love that goes far deeper than that of solely blood. You guys are truly family, and when I’m with you, it’s hard to leave. We talk until the late hour about the goodness of our Lord, and I promise I could live with you guys, all of you, under one roof, and not get frustrated by any of you. I love you all so much. You’re an inspiration, a burning light of encouragement that ignites and fuels me to press all the more into the intimate knowledge of our Savior and Lord. I cannot wait, Lord willing He finds me faithful until that day, to spend all eternity with you and our Savior. Your words of truth, words of genuine encouragement and power, always strengthen me. I experience with you all what Paul describes:

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”(Ephesians 4:11-16 ESV)

Thank you for your faithfulness to our King, and for building me up in love. I truly love you guys. Grace be with you always.

I’m Gonna Worship Jesus, But I’m Gonna Worship Me Too

Following Christ is a choice. Obeying Him is a choice, as is disobeying Him. If you truly desire to pick up your cross, deny yourself, and follow Him, He will imbue you with His most powerful Holy Spirit, and enable you to follow/obey Him.

Do not believe the deception that you can partially follow His way, and then follow your own heart and standards in other ways and still get to heaven:

“But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62 NLT)

I’m begging you, if you are in sin, if you are disobeying Christ’s commands, lowering or compromising God’s standard for your life, please repent. You many not have tomorrow or even tonight to do so! And do not let your heart, which the Bible calls deceitful and wicked, tell you it’s okay, that God will forgive you when you are dead and face Him.

“Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit … And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1 NLT)

“For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.” (2 Corinthians 7:10 NLT)

In other words, just feeling bad or guilty about your sin isn’t enough. Trying to cover it up by church attendance or service, isn’t enough. You must repent, or you will experience spiritual death: eternal destruction of your soul.

I beg you, do not take this lightly or call me radical. I am merely quoting the words of the Bible, not my opinion.

I love you, and God loves you, but you cannot “trample on Christ’s sacrifice” and think you won’t receive judgement. Paul says those who continue sinning deliberately, after knowing Christ’s standards, should only expect:

“Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies.”(Hebrews 10:26, 27 NLT)

Our past sins are covered, but if we continue sinning after receiving knowledge of the truth, those sins will not be covered.

I leave you with this:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin. And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said, “My child, don’t make light of the Lord ’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you. For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.” As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all. Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever? For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong. Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. Make sure that no one is immoral or godless like Esau, who traded his birthright as the firstborn son for a single meal. You know that afterward, when he wanted his father’s blessing, he was rejected. It was too late for repentance, even though he begged with bitter tears.”(Hebrews 12:1-17 NLT)

Christians: Stop Stepping In Dog Poop

Wow:

“But now since you have been set free from sin and have become the slaves of God, you have your present reward in holiness and its end is eternal life.”(Romans 6:22 AMP)

Wow squared:

“So then, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose.” (Philippians 2:12, 13)

This verse has finally clicked in my brain:

“Do everything without grumbling and arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world.” (Philippians 2:14, 15, italics mine)

So my question is: why are so many Christians struggling with sin?

I touched on this, but for me personally, I struggled with sin; impatience, rudeness to my husband sometimes, selfishness. And even though they were done on “smaller scales,” they were consistent. I didn’t know why I couldn’t stop acting them out completely.

Then this whole thing happened; a huge whammy revelation that all this time, I’ve been believing a lie: that even as a Christian, I would mess up and sin. I just completely accepted this as fact, that it was impossible to be, as Colossians 1:10 states, “fully pleasing” to God.

But it’s not impossible. In fact, it’s expected! We are commanded to walk worthily and work out our salvation.

Now some will pause and say I’m believing a works-only salvation, but that’s not what I’m saying, and that’s not what the Bible is saying.

What the Bible says is that we are saved by God’s grace, through Jesus Christ, who’s blood cleanses us from all sin, and makes us new. Now, in this newness, we can walk in holiness and obedience to God, that leads to salvation.

Remember:

“But now since you have been set free from sin and have become the slaves of God, you have your present reward in holiness and its end is eternal life. For the wages which sin pays is death, but the [bountiful] free gift of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:22, 23 AMP)

There is a payment for sin, and that is death, however:

“All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin which does not [involve] death [that may be repented of and forgiven]. We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him [Christ’s divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him].” (1 John 5:17, 18 AMP)

There are sins that don’t lead to death, but we know lying does for sure, as does sexual immorality, drunkenness, selfishness, idolatry, anger, envy, etc. and how many Christians struggle with these yet justify it and think they’ll still get into heaven?

We can’t trust our feelings or the mere teachings of men. We need to search the Scriptures, to really know them ourselves, and obey God.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.” (Matthew 7:13, 14)

I’m A Christian; Party Over My House Everyone!

As a disciple of Christ, there are many commands over my life. Jesus is supposed to be the Master of my life. He commanded that if we truly love Him we must obey His commands. I must love the Lord with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength, and love others as myself. But in order to really obey Christ, I must fear Him.

If you don’t really fear street racing, you’re gonna do it, and you can die. If your parents tell you you’re not allowed to do something, but you really want to do it, if you don’t fear them, you will engage in the activity. The same is true with the Supreme Ruler.

How many Christians are compromising right now, whether it be in an ungodly relationship, or their idolizing money, or thinking it’s okay to dress immodestly, and be impure in a relationship as long as they’re not going all the way? And they have no idea that their disobedience leads to death and a terrifying judgement according to Hebrews chapter ten. Why are they engaging in sin? Because they have believed a popular lie preached in many churches today: you can sin, God’s grace covers, you’re “free in Him,” you’ll still go to heaven.

The real truth is:

“For if we deliberately sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries. If anyone disregards Moses’ law, he dies without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know the One who has said, Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge His people. It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God!”(Hebrews 10:26-31)

We need to fear God. If you are in sin, you can literally pray for the fear of The Lord, and God will give it you. That, and believing His word without wrestling with it, is necessary if you are going to overcome sin.

Let us not take God or His Word lightly. Let us fear Him that we may abstain from sin by the power of His Holy Spirit within us, and thus be able to stand before Him, “blameless.”

I Just Got Electrocuted By God

Romans 6-8 has me really contemplating my walk with Jesus.

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit. Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.” (Romans 8:1-14 NLT)

A few things jump out and just shock my heart with electrifying words of truth that have somehow bypassed my mind and have thus darkened areas of my heart from the light of Truth.

If I belong to Jesus, the power of His very own Spirit has *freed* me from the power of sin.

Paul goes on to explain that in Christ who was sacrificed for us, God declared an end to sin’s control over our lives, and that we are no longer obligated to do what our sinful nature urges us to do.

This got me thinking: if the all-powerful Spirit of Christ lives in me, why am I still “struggling” with selfishness, impatience, and rudeness?

Then the Truth of God’s Word dawned: once you’re in Christ, sin is a choice. Every time I’m rude to my husband or impatient, it’s because I am choosing to be rather than choosing to take a moment when I’m tested to pray for strength to overcome and be led by the Spirit. As a Christian, because of what Jesus did, my, “old sinful self was crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in my life,” and I am, “no longer a slave to sin.” For when I, “died with Christ I was set free from the power of sin. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God.” So I, “also should consider myself to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.”(Romans 6:6, 7, 10, 11 NLT)

I literally should not be sinning, or “struggling” with sin. If anything, I should be battling temptation through the Spirit’s power, but by no means should I be giving in to it, and based on Scripture, even as believers, there are sins that “lead to death.” I am not merely saved by grace so I can keep on doing what I please. I am commanded to please God and that means to stop sinning. If I “spit upon His cross” and abuse His grace, I forfeit His sacrifice for me and I will go to hell.

This revelation caused me to receive another answered prayer: God, help me fear You more.

Holiness is not to be taken lightly. As a Christian, I have no excuse to sin. My only excuse is literally, I chose to do it rather than depend on God and obey His will.

I’m sharing this with my brothers and sisters because I know of others who are in sin and yet claim to be a Christian. They, like me, probably don’t realize they are on a path to hell and are not tapping into the power Christ provides to defeat sin. They also probably focus on the second part of what Christ’s death and resurrection accomplished for them which is salvation from hell, but they are forgetting of unaware of the first part which is salvation from sin.

God’s Word has an extremely high standard for Christians. So let us stop compromising and take our sanctification seriously. God gives us the power to conquer sin, so let us begin walking in that truth. If you desire sin more than holiness before our Lord, then choose sin and know that it will result in your spiritual death, your eternal destruction. I pray you please choose rightly.

“For the grace of God has appeared with salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, while we wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people for His own possession, eager to do good works.” (Titus 2:11-15)

“And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. For if we deliberately sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries.”(Hebrews 10:24-27)

They’re Punching Jesus Christ In The Face

Who is man that they do not fear God? They are but dust that will pass away as soon as they have come into this world. This lifetime is but a breath, a vapor, and then it ends.

Will one waste their life on foolish deception, or repent and find true life and freedom? Will they remain bound in their sin, dead to good works, or come alive in Christ, refreshed and renewed, thoroughly equipped for every good work? Will they linger on in darkness, stumbling and hurt, or come to the light, that they may find their identities and be healed. Will man stay broken, or will they allow the Mender to give them strength and heal their wounds?

Why should they deny the one that created them, the one that gives them life? He who sees everything sees their deeds, He is not blind to their works, nor is He blind to their thoughts and motives.

His grace abounds on all the earth. His light shines in the darkness. But we turn from His love, and spit on His sacrifice. We mock His holy name and hate His purity. We despise His children and all that is good. We applaud evil, we exalt it, we chant its name.

What has become of man? They do not fear God. And they will die in their sins.

Somebody Put A Sock In Religion’s Big Fat Mouth

Interesting that all religions start with one man claiming prophetic enlightenment and this one very human man is always exalted whereas the bible has 40 different authors aka prophets all saying the same thing rather than only one man claiming he heard from God.

Not only that, but unlike the other religions’ “prophets” the things the bible prophets say will come to pass, actually come to pass, and not with partial, but with 100% accuracy.

Yet, many have itching ears that choose to listen to what appeases their appetites and desires, whatever sounds good to them. They do not want to hear about repentance from sin and salvation through Christ alone, that God loves them immensely and died for them knowing it was the only way to redeem them and forgive them.

They don’t want to trust in God alone. They’d rather trust in themselves or a mere man. They look to Scriptures that claim prophetic authority without actually proving the prophetic authority. They trust in one human rather than 40 who say the same thing and again, prophesy future events with astounding accuracy. It is heartbreaking to see so many walking in willful ignorance.

Can you please just cry out to Jesus in sincerity? It is as simple as desiring the real truth–no matter what the cost; that is all you need to discover Christ is the only world Savior. But many do not want to discover the truth for it demands a response. Yet they know not that the Love that deeply desires their hearts will transform them and grant them everything they need. Redemption. Forgiveness. Righteousness. Peace. Heaven.

If they only knew…

Christ is the best and only God. I do not blindly believe. I know my Savior lives. He communicates with me, He has transformed me. I am not perfect but I most certainly am not who I was. His divine word is sure. It is truth. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. I have discovered this, and I pray you do as well.
