Christians Are Called To Be Superheroes

A few days ago, someone I knew from middle school shot himself in the head. Twenty-five years old. Last week, another twenty-five year old that I knew from high school overdosed.

We as Christians can get so distracted from the greater reality: we are in a spiritual war. Depression, anxiety, pornography, sex trafficking, rape, all satanically influenced. People’s souls are being brutally fought for in the spiritual realm and we are seeing it plain as day in the physical realm. Our best friends, co-workers, and family are on what Jesus called the path of destruction. My generation, the Millennials, are so lost.

Christian, there’s walking dead people all around us, and you’re concerned about career? You’re concerned about becoming rich? You’re concerned about getting a wife or husband? Worse yet, you’re enjoying the short-lived pleasures of sin and walking like the dead, absolutely useless to God who desperately wants to rescue them and died to rescue you—not just from hell but from the bondage of sin! You’ve been set free yet you’re living like you aren’t.

We are the superheroes of our world. In our community, God has specifically placed us as watchmen. Even greater is our mission than the superheroes we watch in films. They merely save the physical body. We are called to save the eternal soul! There’s a great villain who is destroying lives, wreaking havoc on the ignorant, and we are the only ones who stand in his way.

Are we fighting him? Are we winning? Or are we foolishly following him instead of God by staying in our sin while souls perish all around us?

We don’t wear costumes, but we wear the light of Christ. Is He being seen in you? Do those around you and those who encounter you know you’re a superhero, know that you’re a Christian? Are you walking in His power so you can save them?

Time is so short. We don’t know who the devil will take out next, but we know this great villain does not sleep, he does not relent. Only those who give their hearts to Christ can withstand and overcome him. That is why we must take our training seriously. Lives literally depend on it.

Our War, Our Victory, Our Destiny As Knights For Jesus Christ

I pray for you knights of Christ every day, that you would grow and endure. Please do keep me in prayer also. For these days are only going to get worse: more evil, more corrupt, more saturated with lies.

And that is why we must stay in the bible every single day, multiple times a day, at least day and night. This is our only weapon, soldiers, it is the Sword of the Spirit.

I promise you the battle in the heavenly realm is real! We can’t see it, but we are in it every day! When satan rebelled, it unleashed war in heaven. The arch angel Michael fought and overpowered the devil, and he was thrown out and cast down to earth where he now prowls like a blood-thirsty lion, seeking whom he may devour.

The devil has literal weapons: a bow with flaming arrows that he fires at our heart to defeat our faith. He literally plans and schemes our destruction and downfall and makes bets with God, accusing us, while Jesus sits on the throne and intercedes for us.

So may we not get lazy and let our swords get rusty. I believe our generation lives in the hardest time spiritually. Jesus said the last days would be like the days of Noah, when in all the world, only eight people lived righteously and feared God. May we be part of the few who stand strong upon the firm foundation of God’s Word.

If you ever doubt, or you’re overwhelmed and need prayer, know that you can cry out to God, and you can call on the saints for prayer support. We’re in this war for Christ together! I’m here for you. Again, may this truth encourage you, warriors of Light. May you clap and shout and sing and dance over this astounding truth. Whenever you get discouraged or tired of this life, remember this and look forward to it, for this is the hope, the destiny of those of us who remain faithful to our King until the end!

Then I looked, and there was a large crowd of people. There were so many people that no one could count them all. They were from every nation, tribe, race of people, and language of the earth. They were standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They all wore white robes and had palm branches in their hands. They shouted loudly, “Victory belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” The elders and the four living beings were there. All the angels were standing around them and the throne. The angels bowed down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God. They said, “Amen! Praise, glory, wisdom, thanks, honor, power, and strength belong to our God forever and ever. Amen!” Then one of the elders asked me, “Who are these people in white robes? Where did they come from?” I answered, “You know who they are, sir.” And the elder said, “These are the ones who have come out of the great suffering. They have washed their robes with the blood of the Lamb, and they are clean and white. So now these people are before the throne of God. They worship God day and night in his temple. And the one who sits on the throne will protect them. They will never be hungry again. They will never be thirsty again. The sun will not hurt them. No heat will burn them. The Lamb in front of the throne will be their shepherd. He will lead them to springs of water that give life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” (Revelation 7:9-17 ERV)

Katy Perry: Please Come Home

Dear Kate Hudson,

As I write this, tears blur my vision and fall from my eyes. I don’t know the number of hairs on your head, I’ve never even seen you in person, yet here I am, crying for you. I can’t imagine how Your Creator, the very One who fashioned you in your mother’s womb, who gave you your beautiful big blue eyes, and that incredible voice, the One who wrote every day of your life before a single one of them came to be—I can’t imagine how He must weep for you.

Do you remember the shortest verse in the Bible? “Jesus wept.”

The only way I can rationalize your turning away from so Great a Love is that you must not have truly known Him. How could it be possible to forsake the most perfect, good, amazing Being in the Universe? The Perfect Man who left His heavenly home to live on this dark earth for thirty-three long years and then be brutally beaten and die, suffering hell—eternal separation from God—for all mankind. For you.

How must He feel when He sees what has happened to your heart? How lost you must be, how blind to the fact that Satan laughs because he sees your destruction. He lifts people up only to drag them down. For he hates humans with a perfect hatred. After all, God made us in His very image, and through Christ He offers us all ever Satan wanted—the throne.

Christians are a royal priesthood. Sons and daughters of the Supreme King. He offers us a crown, and the ability to rule alongside Him. This is what Satan wanted, to be exalted, but instead, he was cast down, thrown from heaven, and his end is eternal destruction because of his rebellion.

Do you not see? You may have fame and riches here on earth, but would you truly cast yourself into eternal fire for things that can be taken from you at any second, whenever the Giver and Taker of life decides your time is up?

You must not understand what you’re doing. Satan is the father of all lies. He can be very convincing. But I pray you see the Truth. I pray you understand how God’s wrath abides on the disobedient. How Satan’s demons trembled at the presence of Christ, and how He rules over all. There is no escaping God’s judgement. Do you wish to face Him as Father, or as Sword-bearer?

I’m pleading with you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to your Creator. You can forsake death and destruction and be embraced by a Love worth living for.

You may never read this, but know that I am praying for you. But more importantly, know that Jesus truly does love you. And there is no one who will ever come an inch close to loving you as deeply as He does.

I pray you come back home.

Talk About Lighting the World On Fire

It’s simple: Christ came to earth to live a perfect, sinless life so that He can die on the cross in our rightful place, paying the price we deserve for sinning against God, for breaking His commandments, so that if we simply trust that Christ died in our place, but then rose again three days later, we will receive His Holy Spirit, the power to say no to sin, and eternal life.

We’ve all lied, or wanted something that wasn’t ours, or taken something that wasn’t ours. We’ve broken God’s commands, and are guilty before Him because of these crimes. None of us are good enough for heaven, only God Himself is good enough. He knew this, and that is why He sent His only Son, God in human flesh, to be our sacrificial lamb.

Before Christ came, God had a system set-up for the Jews that whenever they sinned, they needed a blood sacrifice to be forgiven. A price needed to be paid. But God promised that one day, someone would come, take the sins of the world, and die for us all, becoming a perfect sacrifice once and for all.

Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies of this perfect Savior, written by several different men, hundreds and hundreds of years before His birth.

He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one gets to the Father except through Him.

He loves us more than anyone on this planet. He died for me, He died for you. He tasted death and hell so that we wouldn’t have to, and instead experience eternity with Him, in the presence of Love forever. He is the ultimate Hero. Every one of His commands are given from love, and for our complete benefit. He is good, everything He speaks is good.

When your earthly father forbids you from doing certain things, like clubbing or dating, he’s doing it to protect you because he loves you and wants what’s best for you. How much more does the perfect God, who knows every single outcome before it happens, not only want what’s best for us, but know what’s best for us?

I’ve been there, and everything in my life that brought me temporary happiness eventually left me hurting or wanting more. Relationships, alcohol, friends, popularity, acting, none of it satisfied the deep hole in my heart that cried out for love. I was blessed enough to have both parents around and knew they greatly loved me, but their love wasn’t enough. So I sought relationships, but then no boyfriend could love me the way I desired to be loved. I gave them my whole heart, but they couldn’t take care of it.

Finally, I gave Jesus my whole heart. And in literally six days, He healed it from the brokenness caused by my ex. He filled me with joy, just like He promised in the book of John. He gave Me purpose, and He transformed my heart, and continues to—almost five years later.

I know, beyond a shadow of doubt, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died in my place and rose from the dead because He loves me perfectly. My heart is at rest, it no longer searches for love. It has found Love itself. This peace, this indescribable joy, I must share it with you all because it’s available to any and everyone that’s willing, to anyone who knows life’s empty and that they aren’t holy, to those who aren’t self-righteous but know they’ve messed up, and want to be forgiven by God and desire Him. Heaven is just a bonus, though I’d say salvation from hell is incredibly important.

Jesus taught that it was a literal place “where the fire is not quenched and their worm does not die.” I don’t think anyone wants to spend eternity in that place of eternal destruction.

Why did God make hell? Because He needed a place to cast out and destroy sin. Sin cannot be in His perfect presence, hence Him throwing Satan out of heaven when he rebelled. God can’t have people living in His presence who are going to rise up against Him and those with Him. They need to be destroyed. And the Bible is clear that even if you don’t consciously know it, if you are not following Christ, you’re following Satan. All rebellion, all sin is “of the devil.” He was the first to rebel against God, delusional enough to think he can be like his Creator.

Then God in His goodness decides, “Lucifer, you wanted to be like me? Watch this.” God then creates man in “His image” and gives them authority over all the earth, and, knowing they’re going to rebel just like Satan, He plans to send His perfect Son so that those who trust in Him will literally sit on His throne, receive a crown, His Holy Spirit, His glory, complete knowledge, basically, we will share all that is Christ’s and receive His inheritance because we trusted in Him. That’s why satan hates us so much guys. Because he, although a powerful, stunningly beautiful angel who stood in God’s presence, can never be like Him, but we helpless, weak, human beings can receive all of Christ’s glory. We can obtain what Satan always wanted so he’s enraged against us, knowing he will spend eternity in hell, thus he wants to bring down as many of us humans as possible to burn and be destroyed with him.

He’s consumed with hatred for us, so it blows my mind that people make light of this enemy while others like Lady Gaga act like following him is beneficial. They are clueless. They do not see that their fate, if they choose to continue on their path, is the same as his. They will not escape but by Jesus Christ, the only One who can save us from sin and hell.

Free-will.
The choice is ours.
