My Gay Cousin Asked Me To Write This

A few months ago, my homosexual cousin asked me to write a blog about this. At the time, he and his then-boyfriend were attending gay services with a homosexual pastor. My cousin felt that it was wrong, but said the opposing views had him confused. He wanted to know what the bible really says about homosexuality. So cousin, the following bible verses are all from the New Testament, after Jesus died on the cross and resurrected.

For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. (‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭26-28‬ ESV)

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭9-10‬ ESV)

We know that the law is not meant for a righteous person, but for the lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and irreverent, for those who kill their fathers and mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral and homosexuals, for kidnappers, liars, perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching based on the glorious gospel of the blessed God … (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭9-11‬ HCSB)

In the same way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them committed sexual immorality and practiced perversions, just as angels did, and serve as an example by undergoing the punishment of eternal fire. (‭Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ HCSB)

Homosexuality is a sin, and when Jesus died on the cross and then resurrected from the grave, He defeated all sin.

The bible teaches that those who are “born again,” who deny themselves—their feelings and opinions—and choose to follow Jesus, these people receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is Christ’s very Spirit. He sends Himself in Spirit form into your heart. When His Spirit is united with your heart, your desires naturally begin to change. 500 years before Jesus promised He would send the Holy Spirit to believers after His resurrection, God told His people through His prophet Ezekiel:

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. (‭Ezekiel‬ ‭36‬:‭26-27‬ ESV)

And in the book of Jeremiah, God says:

“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?” (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭32‬:‭27‬ ESV)

Whether it’s drug addiction, pornography addiction, depression, premarital sex, money addiction, prostitution, compulsive lying, stealing; whatever your sin is, God’s Spirit is stronger. His love is greater. His fiery passion for you pinned Him to a cross and kept Him dead for three days. His love for us rose Him from the grave. His love for us crucified all of our sin. The bible says the sins of the world, the iniquity of us all, was laid upon Him. He died for it, but then conquered it when He rose again. He sends the same Spirit that resurrected Him from death into our hearts. Christ Himself lives in us, giving us the power to likewise crucify our sin and overcome it, raising us to new life. That is why I know people who once struggled with homosexuality and now are completely delivered from it. Jesus changed their heart, because He’s powerful enough to. His love conquers our sin, it consumes it and incinerates it.

In Christ, there is no desire we cannot defeat. Our sinfulness is not stronger and never will be stronger than His Spirit. If we simply surrender those desires to Him and just focus on knowing and loving Him, He takes care of our sins. We’ll look back and see we no longer want what we once wanted. We are free to walk in the good works God created us to walk in. We are free to know our true selves: a son or daughter of God, cherished and loved, made for eternal glory.

Anyone can be set free to be who God made them to be. It’s just up to us to decide if we want Him or our sin. Forgiveness or condemnation. Light or darkness. Freedom or chains. Life or death. Heaven or hell.

Precious cousin, I pray you choose Life, I pray you choose Love, I pray you choose Jesus.

Are You Ready To Meet God?

Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You. You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The LORD shall swallow them up in His wrath, And the fire shall devour them. Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth, And their descendants from among the sons of men. For they intended evil against You; They devised a plot which they are not able to perform. Therefore You will make them turn their back; You will make ready Your arrows on Your string toward their faces. (‭Psalms‬ ‭21‬:‭8-12‬ NKJV)

Yahweh, the proven Creator of this universe, will have a face-to-face meeting with us all. We were born by His permission, into His world, and remain breathing now by His will. Like wind to a burning wick, He can blow the very life out of our hearts and we will die, only to stand before the Consuming Fire of whom we must give an account.

Are you ready for this personal encounter? Are you prepared to be judged by Him?

I tell you now, not one person on this earth can ready themselves any other way than that way which God has provided: His Son.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬)

Man is without excuse. There is an abundance of historical evidence that Christ indeed proved Himself to be the Son of God by His perfectly moral life, His miracles and resurrection from the dead, and the billions of lives He’s transformed since then. If anyone doubts this fact, He can merely ask the Lord to reveal the truth, and He will to those who genuinely desire Him. For though many accept that there is indeed a Creator, they reject Him in their minds and hearts, and do not desire Him to be their Father and Master. In their grave foolishness, they deem their ways better than His, and so they cling to their sin and deny God until they inevitably meet Him and face the eternal condemnation for which they brought upon themselves by denying God’s plan for forgiveness and redemption.

I don’t want you to be one of those who all their life assumed they’ll get into heaven on good merit, not realizing they’ve broken the commandments of God over and over and over and have never been truly forgiven of them because they’ve never surrendered to the One who never once broke a commandment; the only perfect One who can forgive sin since He overcame it when He walked this earth in human flesh. Jesus Christ alone is worthy of heaven. He alone has never broken God’s law, therefore when He died, He did not die for merely the worst of sinners, but the bible says He died for the entire world.

Do not trust in yourself to get you to heaven. Jesus has made the path clear: Himself. Come to Him for forgiveness and salvation. Trust in Him as your Savior and Lord, give your heart to Him, change your mind about what you believe is right and renew it by seeing what God commands in the Bible.

May you be set free from every sin and hurt and come to know the One who loved you so much He allowed Himself to be beaten, ridiculed, and pinned to a cross for your forgiveness to be made possible.

Love and grace to you,

Jesus Is Supposed To Transform You

“Abstain from every form of evil.” (I Thessalonians 5:22 NKJV)

When I looked up the original word for “form,” I discovered it included the outward appearance of something. This verse isn’t just speaking about avoiding being involved with evil, but even just the appearance of evil; if it can look like you’re doing evil.

I would say that’s a pretty high standard, wouldn’t you? But if you are familiar with Scripture, you’d know there’s an emphasis on “walking worthy of the Lord,” and being “blameless.” Another verse says we are Christ’s representatives. That’s a big deal, a huge deal.

Jesus was morally perfect, completely blameless in all of His conduct. To represent that can seem impossible to many people, and it is—if you don’t have the Holy Spirit.

Christ came to utterly transform us, but, there is one major obstacle to the process of complete transformation: self.

Jesus told His audience that whoever wanted to follow Him needed to pick up his cross, deny himself, and follow Him. There is a prerequisite before a person can be transformed by Christ’s indwelling Holy Spirit: surrender. And I’m not talking partial surrender or lip-service, but true-blue, Jesus have it all, I’m done with my sins, my ideas, my desires, and I’m going to let You be my Master surrender.

I think there’s a few kinds of people. There are those who are interested in what Christ has to offer. Maybe they hear a sermon, or a friend tells them about Jesus, and they like the sound of forgiveness, grace, love, purpose, and escape from hell. But they are not aware of the depth of Christ’s love for them, and His perfect goodness, so they doubt if the Christian life is really all that satisfying, or they believe Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and that no one can get to the Father except through Him, but they’re afraid of the unknown. Both have the solution to their problem in truly grasping that God is not a mean dictator, but rather a loving Father. And like loving earthly fathers discipline their children for their benefit, God even more so disciplines out of complete knowledge and understanding of what is absolutely best for you. Once this truth is grasped, it is easier to surrender.

But then there are those who truly just want fire-insurance. They believe in hell and don’t want to live there for eternity, so they confess Christ as Savior and Lord, but they never surrender. They maybe start a religious routine of attending church and going to a bible study, but they continue sinning and doing what they want to do. Tragically, Jesus says of these kinds of people:

Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭22-27‬ NKJV)

Jesus didn’t come just to save people from hell, He came to save them from being bound by hell. He defeated sin by the power of the Holy Spirit, and expects those who follow Him in surrender to do the same, not relying on their strength, but on His.

There’s loads of Scriptures on us being holy and different from those who do not know God, primarily how we love Him and one another. But love doesn’t harm, it isn’t selfish, it isn’t lustful or envious or prideful. Love keeps its clothes on and hands off until marriage. Love respects and does not belittle. Love doesn’t lie. Love doesn’t steal, it gives. Love isn’t out of control.

I feel for my generation because there’s so much blasphemy in “churches” today; people getting drunk, having premarital sex, dressing immodestly, cussing, lying, gossiping. These are not fruits of the Holy Spirit, but of the flesh, and it all leads to death. There’s these buildings with pastors who use Jesus’ name and some of the bible and then call themselves His church, when really, their heart isn’t surrendered. They treat His grace as something common and abuse it by continuing to sin and leading their congregation to sin. They talk about reaching the world, but they are still of it! They cannot save souls, but only draw them to themselves. They aren’t bringing people to Christ, they’re bringing them to themselves. It seems the majority of church-goers act like, look like, and talk like those who don’t know Jesus. They don’t realize that there is supposed to be a genuine life transformation; mind, heart, and soul, from the inside out we are truly new. Therefore, they not only miss out on genuine communion with God, but they also are on the wide path of destruction, rather than on the path to life.

The bible speaks of a “great falling away” of the church, and I believe this is the time it speaks of. More and more pastors are rising up, twisting or denying scripture, accepting sin and rejecting the power of Christ to really transform lives. Many are being led to hell and don’t even know it. Then, when someone confronts these pastors or the sin in their congregations, they are called judgmental and shooed out or silenced. The bible says those who do this have their just judgment coming.

But I know God is good. He seeks the heart that is truly hungry for Him, the person who is sick of following their own way and really wants to know Him. These He delivers, He “exalts the humble and gives them grace, but resists the proud.” Jesus visits these people and they surrender and become transformed. And that’s my prayer for you: that just like He visited me on February 22nd, 2009 and began radically transforming my life, that the same would happen for you. That you would come to know the depth and height and length and width of Christ’s love for you, and discover His good, pleasing, perfect and acceptable plans for your life. That by His power, you will be healed and through His Holy Spirit, be able to defeat the sin in your life. Then you too can be able to share Him with others and partner with Him in truly saving souls, storing up great rewards in heaven. But the best reward will be experiencing God here on earth, really experiencing Him; His love, His joy, His power, His grace, His leading, His favor.

If you’ll only surrender.

I’m A Worldly Christian And Proud! Don’t Judge Me!

If we look like the world, talk the like world, act like the world, how is Christ’s light shining through us? Should we not be different? Should we not allow Christ to cleanse us from the inside out? If people only know you’re a Christian when you tell them you’re one, can it be that Christ’s light is being hidden by the darkness of worldliness in your life?

“Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”-James 4:4

But how many mix the holy with the profane? God despises such mixing. It is considered Baal worship. When the Israelites adopted the customs of those around them, God was angry with them. He calls us to be holy which literally means “set apart.”

Now if the world loves you, and loves being around you, could it be that your life affirms their darkness rather than convicts it, so they feel safe and comfortable around you?

Jesus said:

“And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (John 3:19-21)

If darkness is loving hanging around you, do you really have the light of Christ? Sinners who love their sin wouldn’t want to be close friends with you because your holiness would convict them.

When talking to his non-believing brothers, Jesus said:

“The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.” (John 7:7)

Certainly, the world doesn’t hate men like Carl Lentz and Rich Wilkerson Jr. because they don’t testify that their works are evil. They just “accept them” and “don’t tell them to change,” so they get this false sense of peace that God accepts them so they can keep sinning, but visit church on Sunday and it’s all good.

Celebrities indulging in themselves and blaspheming God feel comfortable being close buddies with men of this sort because they don’t feel “judged.” They can be having sex with their girlfriend, cussing, getting drunk, and their pastor friends won’t say a word, but will just “love them.”

A part of love is telling people the truth about their sin and actually caring that they’re on the road to hell unless they repent. Of course we want them to change because we don’t want them to burn in hell! We want their soul to be spared! We want them to walk in freedom and victory over their sin. How is patting them on the back and turning a blind eye to their sinful ways loving? Does not the bible say God disciplines the ones He loves and that judgement begins in the house of God?

“For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? Now “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?” (I Peter 4:17, 18)

Do we not care that God will judge and condemn them for their unrepentant sins? That’s why these pastors get me so upset. They equate love with acceptance when yes, Christ accepted anyone who repented and turned to Him and He warned them to, “go and sin no more.” He wasn’t blind to their sin, He called it out in love, telling them to continue in it no longer because the bible says sin brings death.

I pray pastors get bold, get filled with the Spirit, and speak the whole truth, even the unpopular ones, so that people might repent upon hearing and be saved.

Shut Up And Let Us Kill And Do Whatever Else We Want

If the majority wants the right to murder their helpless children in their womb we should let them because well, they’re the majority, right? If the majority decides they don’t want to buy property anymore, but take homes they like by force, we should let them because they’re the majority, right? If the majority wants to legalize rape, we should legalize rape because the supposed majority wants it, right? Otherwise, we are forcing our moralism on them. Oh, but actually, if we do legalize what they want, they are forcing their lack of moralism on us.

Should we accept their violence, to ours and many people’s destruction? Or should we stand against sin and evil for the sake of the people, and by prayer and civil action, not permit such violence to be enacted on the basis of preserving life?

Chaos happens when evil laws are passed and God’s law is shunned. And this nation and our president, and many American politicians, to our shame and embarrassment, are doing this very thing: passing evil laws and trying to silence those who oppose them.

And we think God does not see? We should be terrified of His righteous judgement on a land that so spitefully rejects and fights against His laws and in pride justifies its treachery and lawlessness with meaningless ideologies of relativism and evolution. Why? Because we want to do what we want without fear of judgement. Deep down we know we are wrong but we silence our consciences by choosing to deceive ourselves with the teachings we like, the ones that don’t condemn our sins, but applaud them, until finally we believe them and have completely crucified our consciences.

Now, we think we are free, but really, we are a slave to the sin we have allowed to rule us, instead of letting the truth and reality of who Jesus Christ is to free us from the power of our evil desires that we may live righteously and truly love others, not just accept and tolerate them.

I love God and the homosexual so I speak against their destructive lifestyle. Not because I’m on a high-horse of self-righteousness but because I know God is love, yet He is also just, and cannot go back on His Word. If He condemns an act that can be forgivable, such as homosexuality, theft, lying, lust, adultery, premarital sex, and even murder, I would be hateful to just shut my mouth and let those indulging in such sins stroll blindly into hell. Because I would rather speak the truth in love, though it may hurt their pride or cause a brief pain when they realize they must separate themselves from that sin, than let them be deceived, or cheer them onto the path of destruction.

God loves us so He tells us the truth, plain and clear. He doesn’t blur the lines and confuse us with gray areas. He labels sin that we might repent of it and receive eternal life with Him. He gave His only perfect Son to die a gruesome death—the death we all deserved—because of our sins. Jesus, the Son of God, defeated sin and death by living a perfect sinless life and then rising from the grave the third day. And He promises that those who trust in Him and give their hearts to Him can likewise conquer sin and death. God “kills your party” to protect your body and soul that you may be able to join Him at His celebration in eternal paradise, where joy is not a fleeting drug or orgasm, but is being in the midst of love Himself for all eternity where He wipes away every tear, and where no more pain or evil exists. A place of true peace, the kind we hope for on this earth but will never have until Christ returns and once for all destroys satan and those who follow him, and Jesus who is Love and Truth rules over and cares for every soul who has chosen to be His and to follow Him.

You may not have tomorrow, so why not choose Life today. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one gets to the Father except by Me.”

I pray your eyes are opened to what matters, that you set your mind on heaven, not earth, on life, not death. Jesus is the Best Person that has ever happened to me, and He offers Himself to anyone who is willing. You can ask Him yourself. You don’t need to go to a church building, or a pastor, to encounter Jesus. He is the only Mediator between God and man, and you can go directly to Him to have your sins forgiven, your slate made clean, and your heart transformed by the indwelling of His most powerful Holy Spirit. Please choose life today!
